Pick.Click.Give.Pick.Click.Give. was created by the Alaska State Legislature in 2008 to allow Alaskans filing for their PFD online to donate a portion or all of their dividend to eligible charitable and educational organizations. After a three-year pilot project, Pick.Click.Give. became a permanent part of the PFD program. The program was originally managed by the Rasmuson Foundation. The Alaska Community Foundation took over management of the Pick.Click.Give. program in 2015. In order to maintain sustainability, 7% of all donations collected will go to program marketing, nonprofit tools and resources, and minimal program administration.
This fee is directed to The Alaska Community Foundation, which allows nonprofit organizations to participate in the statewide marketing campaign while minimizing the administrative costs otherwise associated with fundraising.
We’re celebrating our 10th year of live music in the park!
Together with the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce we’ve decided to allow a bit of time for the recent Covid-19 mandates to slowly open as we reintroduce social gatherings in our village. We understand the safety concerns and aim to meet the needs of state guidelines to protect our community’s health and in return ask individuals to also take the precautions while engaging at public events.
We are so very excited to offer this annual celebration of artists and are looking forward to seeing our community out supporting them!
We know that life has been a bit strange but it wouldn’t be a Talkeetna Summer without Live at Five! Let’s do our part and take extra care this summer season.
We are so grateful to have the grant support from the following contributors especially during these uncertain times. Not only do they help us with the funds to do the GOOD work at hand, they are there by our sides strengthening the community around us as well.
We want to acknowledge your role in our mission to promote the importance of artistic expression and opportunity within our home village of Talkeetna the Upper Susitna Valley.
Together we are improving the quality of life in Alaska by providing opportunities of creative cultural exchange and dynamic dialogue around the arts.
With great pride and ambition we carry on moving our mission forward for a shared purpose. Champions for meaningful success, we thank you for uplifting us along the way.
Dear Talkeetna community, families, students and beloved volunteers,
After MUCH consideration, Denali Arts Council and its program Director, Mary Farina have decided together to ere on the side of caution and cancel camp for this summer.
Each year Green Light Circus brings together the community in a way that strengthens the very roots of why began our organization in the first place. As one of the inceptive programs within DAC we hope to take these uncertain times and turn it into a pause of purpose. A time to remember all the indelible moments and regroup for a stronger season next year. May we show our community adoration and support to such a great program through continued passion and togetherness.
We encourage the community to send in video testimonials or a circus act to keep the spirit alive! We will then put together a virtual circus camp extraordinaire! Please upload videos you are willing to share to: GLC DROPBOX or mail your usb stick to Denali Arts Council PO box 404 Talkeetna, AK 99676 with attn: GLC, Debbie Whitecar.
This will be a challenging year for us and we will need help. Many of the expenses to keep the building up to par and to pay our two staff members comes from the success of event tickets and a percentage of program involvement. Because we are unable to offer camp this summer we will be issuing full refunds to our program. We ask you to consider making a donation of your deposit or any portion of your tuition to the health of Denali Arts Council as a whole.
Our hearts are with you all during this hard time. We will miss seeing our Circus Students but look forward to 2021.
Any questions please call the Executive Director Ali Lee at 907-733-7929 or the GLC Program Director Mary Farina at 907-355-4699 Thank you.
