Parlor in the Round is coming back to Talkeetna on November 22nd, 7:00 p.m. at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar, presented by the Denali Arts Council and Well Rounded Arts,  and with funding from the Alaska State Council on the Arts. Now in its 11th Season, Parlor is the creation of Wasilla raised musician and bass player of the Super Saturated Sugar Strings, Kevin Worell. Worell is the Host and Producer of the performance as well as the director of the nonprofit organization Well Rounded Arts who present these popular performances. Parlor began as a concert series in Anchorage but has since traveled all around the state, including performances in Homer, Kodiak, Fairbanks, Skagway, Haines, Valdez, Bethel, and Hope.

If you have not yet been to a Parlor in the Round performance, it is best described as: “Feels like dinner theater. Sounds like a house concert. Looks like improv comedy.” Three songwriters will be featured on stage, sharing songs and stories as they draw inspiration from one another. Toronto artist Barbra Lica, Alaska’s Braden Rollins of the Blackwater Railroad Company, and Talkeetna’s own local legend, Steve Durr, will be gracing the Hangar stage.

Kevin Worrell will be the host of the evening, tying together the variety of performers. His humor and positive nature will delight all audience members throughout the evening and is guaranteed to keep you laughing and entertained. Don’t expect to come to this concert and not participate. After the intermission, the musicians on stage will collaborate on creating an original piece of music based on suggestions submitted by the audience.
