Chalk The Town

A community art project & fundraiser for Denali Arts Council, Upper Susitna Food Pantry, and Talkeetna Pride.

A creative idea by one of our young supporters, Shelby Whitecar.

On Friday, June 21 between 2 and 6 pm, we will Chalk The Town. The event is free, but as this is a fundraiser, we appreciate your donation. Come to the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar at 2 pm to get a box of chalk, or even better: bring your own. Then you will be assigned a space for your chalk art. Art areas will be located in downtown Talkeetna. People can take an art walk: simply follow the arrows that lead from one piece of street art to the next (drop your donation into the buckets), and end your walk at the Outdoor Artisan Market in front of the Hangar where visitors can also make a donation.

The theme we chose for Chalk The Town is “Be Yourself & Spread The Love” — celebrating Pride Month. Let’s make this art project & fundraiser the “chalk of the town!”
