May 2016 David Totten
David Totten’s artwork will be on display at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar starting May 13th with an Opening Reception on May 14th 3-5 PM.
He is a wildlife artist that creates portraits of Alaska’s mammals & birds that are rich in contrast and uniquely realistic in content. His works have a 3-dimensional vitality which invites viewers to join him in his love of nature. His pastel paintings of wildlife have received wide recognition for their unique detail, depth, and use of vivid colors. Totten often used his own recreational team of sled dogs as models for his well-known “sled dog art.”
Totten’s home studio/gallery, Wildlife North Art, is open to the public year-round at Mile 10.5 Talkeetna Spur Rd. Talkeetna, Alaska.

Artworks of Alpine Climbing in Alaska & Patagonia featuring the photography of Mark Westman and paintings of Leighan Falley
Mark W Bio: I have been climbing in and photographing the Alaska Range every year since 1994, and have made ascents of many of the area’s most iconic and challenging climbing routes. I have also been climbing in the fabled granite spires of the Argentine Patagonian Andes for the past fifteen years. My photography reflects a passion for capturing the sweeping mountainous landscapes and massive scale that characterizes these stupendous ranges, through perspectives often gained only through the commitment to and practice of alpinism. I live in Talkeetna and for the past six years I have worked seasonally as a mountaineering ranger for Denali National Park and Preserve.
