Emmila A Denny Scholarship

The Emmila A. Denny Scholarship honors the legacy of Emmila Ann Denny (1942–2009), a beloved Talkeetna community leader, artist, and advocate for the arts. Known to many as Belles Liberte of the Green Light Circus or as the voice of Granny’s Radio Recipes, Emmila was a tireless supporter of local projects including the Denali Arts Council, Talkeetna Community Radio, the library, and the VFW. Her lifelong dedication to community and creativity helped shape Talkeetna into the vibrant place it is today.

The scholarship continues her spirit of service by fostering and encouraging the creative talents of artists residing in the Upper Susitna Valley. Funded through Denali Arts Council’s Raising Spirits fundraiser, credit card tipped donations from patrons, and individual contributions, the scholarship ensures that Emmila’s passion for nurturing the arts lives on for generations to come.

Before applying for the Emmila A. Denny Scholarship, please review the guidelines and requirements to ensure your program is eligible. We strongly encourage you to contact the Denali Arts Council with any questions about this scholarship before submitting your application.
