Fiber February Workshops are a fabulously fun way for beginners to explore the fiber art form of their choice! With six different workshops to choose from, each session will guide participants through the basics of a specific fiber art. All materials are provided, and participants will get to keep their new tools, allowing them to continue practicing and creating at home.

Registration Fee is $5.00 plus the cost of the Workshop. Cost of workshops vary.

Workshop Descriptions: 

1. Beginning Spinning with a Drop Spindle with Brenda Hogan ($55): Spin your own yarn from wool using a drop spindle. Participants will receive wool and a drop spindle.

2. Beginning Weaving with Diane Ziegner ($40): Learn aspects of weaving fundamentals on a small loom. Participants will receive a small loom and yarn.

3. Beginning Knitting with Christie Seay ($20): A step-by-step tutorial on how to start knitting. Participants will be provided with US 8 straight needles and 1 skein worsted weight yarn.

4. Introduction to Spinning with a Wheel with Carol Hazeltine ($10): Learn how to prepare fiber, and learn about different fibers using a spinning wheel. Participants will be provided with the use of a spinning wheel, carders and fibers. SPINNING WHEEL IS FOR WORKSHOP ONLY.

5. Blueberry Embroidery ($55): Learn the basics of embroidery while stitching a charming cluster of blueberries! This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce essential embroidery techniques, with all materials provided. Participants will leave with their own hand-stitched blueberry design.

6. Beginning Rug Hooking with Trisha Costello ($65): Rug hooking is an eco-friendly process in which old clothes or fabric can be recycled. In this workshop you will learn the basics and hook your first rug. Participants will receive a Beginner’s Rug Hooking Kit, including frame, hook and yarn.
