This embroidery class is part of Susitna River Coalition’s Wild Salmon Weekend, a community celebration of the fish that shape our rivers, communities, and way of life. The class will be held at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar, home of the Denali Arts Council, in Talkeetna.
The Fireweed Salmon pattern by Landly AK is the perfect introduction to hand embroidery and requires no experience. In this class you will learn 6 stitches in a 4-hour period. All supplies will be provided but feel to bring any of your own things, if you prefer. I recommend you bring any glasses you may wear, even occasionally.
Please keep in mind that embroidery is a slower craft and that it is likely you do not finish the piece before class is over. This is totally normal. You will go home with your piece, 5-inch bamboo hoop, size 5 needle and any thread needed to complete leftover work at home. This class is best fit for 12 years and older. If you have a younger kiddo that you know will do well in this class, feel free to reach out to me and we can discuss making an exception.
There are no refunds for this class due to the travel that goes into making this class happen.
Tickets are available directly through Landly AK
